There are people who still remember a version of you that no longer exists.
Someone remembers the child who laughed without fear.
Someone remembers the teenager who dreamed about changing the world.
Someone remembers the friend who always stayed until everyone got home safely.
Someone remembers the person you were before life became complicated.
You have changed. So have they.
Some names are now only photographs.
Some streets exist only in memory.
Some voices can never be heard again.
Yet somewhere, in someone else's heart, an older version of you is still alive.
Perhaps that is the closest thing humans have to immortality.
We disappear from places.
We disappear from years.
But we never completely disappear from the people who loved us.
