The unimaginably horrific nature of the Vietnam war, has somewhat made it a go to occurrence for the use of satire. Films have often shown raw footage from the conflict overlayed with joyful music from the same era. Which is to simulate the relative cluelessness and ignores of mainstream culture along side the ironic nature of melody when related to the subject matter of lyrics. Some of the most famous comedic one liners from Hollywood have been created to the topic Vietnam and this is because of comical elements are amplify due to the paradox of humor and war. Vietnam was the first war to be continuously caught on film and documented through the media. Which gave many the false believe of perceptual understanding as they watched from home. Others however were aware they were still oblivious to the real nature of war despite the frightful imagery. And that only those in the picture would truly understand the significance of what was taking place.
