I found the old chat while searching for something else.
At first it was only a name, then a whole year opened under my thumb.
We were there again, sending small updates, bad jokes, blurry pictures of food, saying see you later as if later was a room we could always enter.
Some messages were so ordinary they almost hurt:
"I'm home," "Don't forget," "Call me when you arrive."
I kept scrolling, past the plans we made, past the days we thought would repeat forever.
The strange thing is that nothing in the chat knew how the story would end.
Every word was still standing there, innocent and alive.
I did not reply. I only held the phone and understood that sometimes the deepest part of love is not what we said, but the small everyday words that kept us close without asking to be remembered.
