The Lost Cat Leo was a young boy who lived in a small, quiet town with his family and his cat, Whiskers. Whiskers was a small, white cat with big green eyes. Every afternoon, Leo played with Whiskers in the garden after finishing his homework. One rainy Friday, Leo came home from school and called for his cat. "Whiskers! Where are you?" he shouted, but the house was completely silent. He looked in the kitchen, under his bed, and behind the sofa, but Whiskers was not there. Leo felt very worried. He put on his red raincoat and went outside to search. The wind was cold, and the rain was falling fast. He walked down the street and asked his neighbor, Mrs. Smith, "Have you seen my cat?" Mrs. Smith smiled gently and said, "No, I haven't, but I can help you look for him." They walked together to the local park. Near a tall tree, Leo heard a soft noise: "Meow." He ran quickly to the tree and looked up. Whiskers was sitting on a low branch, wet and scared because he was afraid of the rain. Leo gently reached out his arms. "Come here, Whiskers. It is safe now," he whispered. The cat jumped down into Leo's warm jacket. Leo smiled happily and hugged his pet tightly. They walked back home together, and Leo gave Whiskers a big bowl of warm milk and a soft towel.
