Re: Cheaters

http://10fastfingers.com/user/690565/ Single competition, 211 wpm result, seems very suspicious.

Double average score in competition (~100 to over 200).

Re: What keyboard do you use for fast typing?

I use a Leopold FC660C with Topre switches, get mostly in the high-150s. Used to use Cherry Blues, which I still like.

Re: What keyboard do you use for fast typing?

It's not suggested in the keyboard communities to start with the BW because of its history of terrible quality. A better start would probably be something like Ducky (great quality and the Shine series have some very interesting lighting modes), Cooler Master (higher quality in general), or Filco. I...

Re: KeyBoard Layout HELP!

This is really late, but keyboard layout can mean two different things. It can mean QWERTY/Dvorak/Colemak/etc, or what he probably means, ANSI vs. ISO. ISO is the layout of the International Standards Organisation, a European layout with an 'L'-shaped enter and smaller shift keys. ANSI is the Americ...

Re: How to change my typing habits ?

I highly doubt that anyone could type over 130 wpm with six fingers. In QWERTY, because the layout favors the left hand, it's easier, but really just practicing and slowing down with both hands will help you in probably less then two weeks. Since learning Dvorak, reaching an about 150 average so far...

Re: Dvorak question

I would strongly recommend the use of only the left thumb. in Dvorak, because your left hand does not move much at all, it can be used for this purpose. The right hand must move much more, and it makes no sense for it to be confined by the spacebar when the left hand can use it also. Good typing to...

Re: one small issue im having with using left shift

It's considered good technique to use the opposite hand of which you're about to type the capital letter with for the shift. I do this, but recently i started using StickyKeys in competition, which should be even faster than using caps lock. I wonder if Sean has anything to say about that.

Re: I type strangely...

Using the home row on Qwerty doesn't help you, because it's not the most common row. A flaw of its design.
For any optimized layout, it becomes more necessary. But for Qwerty, it's less movement keeping your fingers on the top+home rows.
