My records are 185 with 2 errors and 184 with no errors on the normal test. On the advanced test, they are 167 with 3 errors, 165 with no errors. Honestly, I have seen plenty of people beat my 185 with 2 errors, a few beat my 184 with no errors; a good number beat my 167 with 3 errors, and one person beat my 165 with no errors. So, what I guess I am now trying to say is that this website focuses on speed more than accuracy. Is there any way I could break 190? Should I just not worry about I make errors or not? One tip that I do have is to practice the piano every day. I suppose I am "about" 190 if you round it, but it would be nice to get closer to 200 wpm someday. Any advice?

Something's happening with my typing.
Whenever i get to the second line, it seems like my time is decreasing. When i started using this website at grade 7, the time i had to finish the second line was 0:52. Now, its 0:48. What's going on there?

Well, playing the piano, indeed, helps improve my typing . Honestly what i could say is just practice, and you will get better.

I know this is a late comment, but. Here you go.
You can't fail this test unless you get 20 wpm or lower! I'm sure there is a lot of websites where you can touch type, and that's how people can get fast.

How long to reach 50 & 75 WPM ?

I type for almost 35 years (I'm 55) with 3.5 fingers and a thumb. I dove into mechanical keyboards last year and decided I wanna learn touch typing to make my life a little bit easier. I do webdevelopment etc. So for me not heaving to peek will make me more efficient. And it's a lot of fun.

I started 2 month ago with the program Gtypist -practise daily one lesson- and since a couple of weeks I know the keyboard from memory but still make silly mistakes. Appearently it takes time to get adjusted. I'll type as many as I can with 10 fingers (also this text) and see I'm inproving.

My first speedtest 3 weeks ago was 16 WPM. And my current high score -today- is 35.

But I see that the fast progress I make in the first weeks is slowing down. But I must say that is propably not unexpected.

What would be realistict for me to expect progress wise? How long to get to 50 WPM, my first goal.
Also because that was about my typing speed with the 3.5 fingers. But eventually I wanna reach -at least- 75.

30 vs 60 Second Speed

I'm currently hardstuck at around 160wpm for the 1min Test :(

While getting up to 180wpm in Multiplayer I don't seem to be able to keep that speed for an entire minute.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? Any advice?

How do you guys type this mark: '
And this: ,

(images if you don't see: Image, Image)

My keyboard has two languages and I have to change langauge by Alt+Shift in order to type those punctations, which slows down my typing for quite a bit and is confusing sometimes.
I've watched some videos from good typists and it seems that they type those punctations very fast.
Is there a different way to type those punctations?

To type an apostrophe, simply move your right pinkie over. To type a comma, slide your 3rd finger down.
