Grand Teton National Park is one of the most dramatic mountain landscapes in the United States. Located in northwestern Wyoming, the park is famous for the sharp peaks of the Teton Range, clear alpine lakes, wide valleys, and abundant wildlife. Unlike many mountain ranges, the Tetons rise very suddenly from the surrounding landscape, which makes them appear especially impressive.

Wildlife is a major part of Grand Teton National Park. Moose, elk, bison, black bears, grizzly bears, pronghorn, and bald eagles can all be found in the region. Early morning and evening are often good times to observe animals, but visitors should always keep a safe distance.
The Snake River flows through the park and adds another important feature to the landscape. Its winding channels pass through forests and open meadows, creating excellent habitat for wildlife. The river is also popular for rafting, fishing, and scenic float trips.
Weather in the Tetons can change quickly. Even during warmer months, mornings may be cold, and mountain storms can develop with little warning. Snow can remain on high peaks well into summer.
Grand Teton National Park combines dramatic scenery with a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere. A visitor can watch sunrise over the mountains, hike beside a clear lake, spot wildlife in a quiet valley, and end the day beneath a dark sky filled with stars.
