Though the conditions of labour have shown marked improvement since independence, we find an increasing incidence of industril unrest in the country and labour pressing for more wages and othe amenities. The reasons for this are partly due to the difficulties experienced by lbaour in view of the rising cost of living and equally is the result of a general tendency on the part of the leaders of the trade union movements whi in ther keenness to draw the workers into their respective trade unions pitch their demands at unreasonaly high levels,often ignoring the larger interess of the country. Employers alo try to take undue advantage of the labour's weak and unorgnised position and the prevailing acuteness of the unemployment situation.
