Confidence should be the key to every task you want to accomplish, because in its absence, you are likely to fail if success calls for the continuity of efforts. Confidence is the virtue which keeps you from giving in to duress and treating obstructions as the end of your efforts. Giving up an assignment midway is a self-defeating attitude, because it takes a heavy toll on the positivity of approach and the will to succeed. If you lack the resilience of spirit, you cannot use your physical and mental resources to achieve what you want in life. You cannot motivate others to make a mark in the fields they have chosen either. There is a famous quote—“True prosperity is the result of well-placed confidence in ourselves and our fellow men.” Actually, great leaders always have faith in people they are supposed to lead and try to make those people aware of their ability. They develop faith in those who doubt their own assets. They are motivated to believe in their own capabilities.
In fact, leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want to get done. A true leader must believe in teamwork based on mutual trust and understanding. His conviction is so strong that he makes his fellow men believe in his sincerity that is necessary for a desired outcome. William Penn has rightly said, “Only trust thyself, and another shall not betray thee.” In other words, before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. You cannot be a leader if you have ceased to improve and innovate new ways according to the demands of the circumstances. First you grow yourself and only then you can pass on your skills and experiences to others. A leader’s success depends on his ability to make others grow and make fruitful contribution.
When a leader is in agreement with his team the task naturally takes off and picks up the desired speed. No impediment is thought to be a roadblock and all the members of that team develop the determination to finish that task in the best possible manner. A task so fulfilled serves as an inspiration for others. Actually, whatever you decide takes shape only when you think of a model plan either used or thought of by other people related to the area. No task has ever been carried out without a plan. A proper plan for doing a task makes the job not only easier, but also enjoyable and convincing. If a task becomes enjoyable, then it is most likely to bear fruit. Even if it is not a success, you are not disheartened and have the enthusiasm to do it again. Every task is not carried out in just one attempt and a true leader has the capability to make repeated attempts. The person who yields to pressure and changes his course cannot be a true leader
Always remember that the leadership quality is necessary for even a beginner. It comprises determination, self-confidence, a will to succeed, resilience and a knack for proper planning. These are the attributes a sincere student must also have.
