Transcription is the most important part of short hand learning because it is the transcript that matters in the long run. Because short hand notes are written to be read; it is more important sometimes to write an outline of any kind even though it is wrong then to leave a gap. From the movement the dictation begins the mind should be occupied itself solely with hearing sounds and representing them as accurately as possible. Comprehension is extremely important. What you do not understand you can successfully write in short hand and transcribed. What you fully understand you can take down and transcribed accurately. Full stop should be always, without exception, be included while writing short hand. The speed writer must know how to punctuate when transcribing because faulty punctuation can also ruin can also a letter or document. You are recomended to study the rules of punctuation and to apply them sensibly. A simple book with lists of frequently mis-spelt words is also a useful edition to your personal library. Read some part of every passage and transcribed the hole of atleast one passage. It is only by constant practice in transcription that one gains facility in transcribing.
