Jay6, I know you don't have a clue who I am, but I just went through and completed your text practice. Usually I move on from texts that are personal introspections but I was compelled to finish yours simply because I wanted to get to the end.
In honesty, seventeen is such a hard age to experience. The amount of changes that you experience are unsurmountable and many people tend to forget that. Often, teenagers are told to 'act their age,' when really, said teens are just working on developing who they are. How do you know that you are supposed to act like you are seventeen, when you are actually just beginning to learn what that age feels like.
My heard kind of hurt for you when I read that you said that you feel unloved. That feeling of loneliness and emptiness is often hard to explain to your parents, and even to your friends, teachers, etc. A parent myself, I know that we are never going to be perfect and I know that we will never be able to say the exact right thing, even if you explain yourself til you are blue in the face. What I can promise you is that, despite how angry or hurt or misunderstood you may feel as a result of your interactions with your parents, they will always love you, for better or for worse. While that may not be of the most comfort, I can promise you that it is true.
That is not to say that you are invalid in your feelings. There's no right or wrong feeling that you can experience. The beautiful thing about you, and about every person, is that we are all perfectly imperfect. Perhaps it may be a bit of a cliche, but there is no truer statement, in my opinion. I hope that your pain is able to be stilled and that your heart and mind will be able to feel the love that truly does surround you, even if you don't see it right this minute.
I wish you all the best in your endeavors and I truly, truly hope that you will find the strength within yourself to accept the flaws that make you beautiful so that you may eventually see the love that other people also have to offer you.
