There can be no doubt that using smartphones in school deserves some analysis. This writer's opinion is that phones should be used in school, and there are no detrimental effects if children use phones in school. From my perspective, this opinion needs to be analyzed from multiple aspects.
About the first notion, being prohibited from smartphones, children can have real interaction with their friends, leading to effective communication. Banning children’s phones might be inconvenient for them to research the documents they need for lectures. Daunting as it may sound, this plays a pivotal role in forcing young students to have face-to-face chats and understand other people better. To exemplify, during the break out of classes, in around half of a minute, a group of students can gather around and exchange these memorable times or debate about some great topics. These activities allow them to convince others, which is compulsory for business owners and leaders. If pages of writing replace the fundamental interactions, people tend to skim over the text without deep comprehension. Therefore, phones should be banned at school.
Regarding the second notion, permitting children to use smartphones allows them to approach more significant sources of information, which helps them learn effectively. Phones can be utilized to search for knowledge relating to their topic, promoting children’s school performance. To exemplify, in Vietnam, phones are gradually applied to teaching so that students do not have to count on teachers. Moreover, recognizing the effectiveness of phones, teachers can develop more activities during class to develop students’ skills such as critical thinking. If children do not have these tools, they need to research from books and lectures, which consumes a lot of time. Consequently, children should use their phones for personal needs at their school.
In conclusion, as outlined above, one could see the pros and cons of phones for children. Nevertheless, the ample evidence and reasons provided can conclude that phones must be used to favor children with their studies, and the downsides must be minimized simultaneously.
