Going by the speed of digitization in India, it is just a matter of time when the country would be turning a new corner in technological advancements bringing in further ease in daily life. Keeping the pace of digitization in mind, the world of caution by Vice-President Mr.Venkaiah Naidu must be given a serious thought. Mr. Naidu has rightly advised Central and State Governments to ensure that in the spree of digital learning no student is left behind in the digital divide. Mr. Naidu’s concern stems from the reports of poor accessibility to Internet in the rural areas thus depriving children from on-line education. There are numerous episodes where students have been left hankering for connectivity, missing precious academic hours. It is either due to electricity failure or lack of Internet connection which are the prime areas of focus for the Governments if the digital dream is to take a real shape in the country. Mr. Naidu’s mantra-Embrace, Engage, Enlighten and Empower-has to be the central idea while making sure that all are included in the digital learning process. The onus is clearly on the masters of technology to take the benefits of digitization to the last person.
