Sir, for the present, all that we have agreed is that that the two Foreign Secretaries
will meet. The two Foreign Secretaries have been meeting even before the Joint Statement.
Further, we have agreed that the two Foreign Ministers will meet on the sidelines of the
General assembly. The two Foreign Ministers have been meeting even before the Statement
was issued. They met recently in Trieste. I met President Zardari in Russia. I met Prime
Minister Gilani even before this Statement. So in operational terms all that we have agreed
is that there will be a meeting of Foreign Secretaries, as often as necessary, followed by a
meeting of the two Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
Apolitical slugfest erupted today in the Capital after the Central Bureau of
Investigation raided an office on the premises of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal
regarding a corruption case, with the Aam Aadmi Party leader launching a scathing attack
on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rejecting charges, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the CM office was not
even "touched" by the CBI. "A text book case of corruption is being given political colour for
extraneous reasons. The use of such expressions for our popular Prime minister is totally
uncalled for, unwarranted, disgraceful and condemnable." Kejriwal was quoted saying that
choice of words may have been due to his small-town upbringing suggesting that he was
willing to take them.
