The high level of excitement in the country is palpable as India’s moon mission 'Chandrayaan-3' enters the last lap with the Vikram Lander approaching the Moon surface. The Lander Module comprising lander (Vikram) and rover (Pragyan) will undergo the critical phase of slowing down in a few hours from now as India waits for the D-Day when the soft landing is achieved and the four-year-long pain is healed. There is tangible suspense over the landing and a prayer on every Indian's lips. No one wants a repeat of 2019 when the lander could not accomplish the final stage and the country heaved a collective gasp on that September night. This time, however, there is a renewed vigour and hope that it will be India's time to tell the world that it has arrived and how! The Moon has definitely lived up to its billing of being a unifier. A subject of romantic expressions for poets and writers, the Moon has emerged as a collective dream of the Indians on which they are envisaging the tricolour taking its place of pride. This unification of minds, cutting across all strata of the society, for a country's dream is the best accrual of the 'Chandrayaan-3'. Its success will be known in a couple of days but the country is also aware of the multiple factors associated with the mission. There is hope and prayers and good wishes and also a sense of pride that will remain the best outcome of the scientific mission. These are the moments that bring the society together irrespective of the creed and caste and religion. These are the moments that science and scientific community keep waiting for so that their hard work is percolated to the last section of the society. These are the moments that sow seeds of future greatness and build a foundation for correct scientific temperament. The Chandrayaan-3 has given the country a reason to overcome the dirty narratives set by selfish elements and pray for the success of an idea, a dream. Then there is also a small detail of pipping a rival to the post. Russia, here comes the Vikram lander!
