Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences (PoAHS) is one of the 9 Institutes of Health Sciences in Nepal. This institution, which studies and teaches medical science, is named after the beautiful tourist city of Pokhara. Pokhara Metropolitan City - 11 is located in Ramghat under Kaski District of Gandaki Province, one of the 7 provinces of Federal Nepal. This institution, which has a lot of potential, is considered a center of hope for medical education.
Through the "Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences Act, 2072" passed by the Legislature Parliament in the year 2072 B.S., Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences was established as an autonomous teaching and health institution by upgrading the then western regional hospital. Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences has been supporting the entire country through medical education, health services and research.
The establishment was established with the aim of producing the necessary skilled manpower for the country by providing high-level studies and research in the field of health sciences and providing quality healthcare services to the general public. According to the clause (1) of Article 296 of the Constitution of Nepal, the Legislature Parliament established the foundation by making an Act. Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences Act, 2072 was certified by the President on January 12, and the institute came into existence legally. However, for the establishment of Efforts were being made since 2069 B.S.
