Have you ever been so sure of something in your life that you couldn't even imagine the possibility of it being incorrect? For example, you may think that you have five fingers on your right hand and that anyone who tells you otherwise must be joking. But the truth is, you cannot ever know something to be absolutely certain. You may believe you have five fingers on your right hand because an alien has abducted you and is now reconstructing your memory to make you believe that. Even scientific theories that have been empirically verified over the years cannot boast an absolute certainty. Take for example the law of gravitation. You may believe that objects are attracted to one another by a force known as gravity, and everyone would tell you that you are correct. However, there is that infinitesimally small chance that you are under an alien influence and the entire world is a fabrication.
