I was only clearing space on my phone when the past opened by accident. One old photo led to another, then another, until the room around me disappeared. There we were, years younger, laughing into a camera we thought was only saving a moment, not burying a whole life. A table I had forgotten. A shirt I used to love. Someone's hand caught at the edge of the frame, still reaching for something. I zoomed in, as if the pixels could give back a voice, a smell, the exact warmth of that afternoon. Nothing in the photo knew it was already leaving. Not the faces. Not the light. Not even me, smiling like time was something I could spend without counting. I did not delete anything that night. I just sat there, holding the small bright proof that ordinary days can become the places we miss the most.
