In Maharashtra, life is limping back to normal after two days of heavy downpour.
 
Several areas were inundated after the heavy rainfall. The Army, Navy and teams of NDRF were pressed into service to rescue people who were stranded due to flash floods triggered by intense rainfall.  
 
Even as the IMD has issued of heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts of Maharashtra today, the situation is fairly under control as light showers are being witnessed at these places which is enabling the life to return back to normalcy.  
 
The last two days of heavy downpour affected the life resulting into landslide and other incidents in various parts of the state. Passengers of the Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi express who were stranded near Vangani station in Thane district were rescued by Navy and NDRF teams yesterday.  
 
 
Similarly, several others were also rescued by army and NdRF in Kalyan and Badlapur towns.
