In nineteenth century England young Jonathan Joestar lives a peaceful life as the son of a wealthy gentleman. One day his father adopts Dio Brando a cunning boy from a poor background. Though Dio pretends to be kind he secretly plans to steal the Joestar fortune and ruin Jonathan. Over the years their rivalry grows until Dio discovers a mysterious ancient Stone Mask that grants monstrous power when it touches blood. In a moment of desperation Dio uses the mask and becomes a vampire gaining inhuman strength and immortality. Jonathan trains under the master William Zeppeli to learn the art of Hamon a breathing technique that channels life energy to fight the undead. With his allies Zeppeli and the brave Speedwagon Jonathan sets out to stop Dio and his army of zombies. Their battles are fierce and tragic but Jonathan’s courage and honor never falter. In the final confrontation aboard a burning ship Jonathan sacrifices his life to stop Dio once and for all. Yet Dio survives by taking Jonathan’s body and escapes into the ocean leaving behind a legacy that will haunt the Joestar family for generations to come.
