The only thing preventing you from sheer greatness with typing is, first and foremost, your ability to type while keeping your eyes focused on the screen ahead. You should never, ever, look down at your keyboard. There are many other things that can help while you are learning to type, like focusing more on spelling a word correctly, rather than trying to type the word fast. Once you have mastered correctly spelling words, the speed will come naturally. And like all things, getting better simply takes time.
