Chief Coach and Technical Advisor of Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy, Jabalpur, Richpal Singh Salaria has made Madhya Pradesh proud by guiding around 25 archers to the glory at international level. His desire and passion to shape up budding archers is unmatched.

Archer Muskan Kirar, who shot to fame after winning silver medal in Asian Games, has learnt the nuances under the guidance of Richpal Singh Salaria. In a candid chat with The Hitavada Richpal Singh Salaria said An archer should always carry self-confidence on his sleeves and focus on the shooting techniques to excel in the game. Talking about his love for archery, he said that he started from archery then joined Army in 1996 and had also been a part of Army in Kargil War of 1999. In 2006, when he was leaving archery forever he was offered to lead as coach for Indian senior archery team from 20017 to 2015. During this tenure, he also guided Indian team in many national and international games, including Commonwealth Games.

In 2016, he joined Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy, Jabalpur. Stating about the prominent qualities of an archer, he said that an archer should always possess self-confidence in him/her, besides a player should be self-motivated for performing in the game, result is secondary.
An archer should always follow technical instructions guided by coach or technical advisor and pay heed over shooting techniques which is mandatory in performing well in the game. Today, it has become usual problem that a player or any person counts his single negative point rather than praising 99 positive points. As a result, it is leading to distraction, lack of performance and give-up attitude sometimes. As every coach has his own forte and style of training, what is yours? To which he replied well I give preference to shooting techniques and majority focus is on it instead of any other point.

As many national and international competitions are near so the archers who are going to represent Madhya Pradesh are being given special training. Regularly maximum ten hours preparations are done by the archers. Also, the players are being given training for facing the competition so practice with a player as a competitor are also being held these days. It is worth mentioning that Madhya Pradesh archers Muskan Kirar and Arshiya Chaudhary have been selected for Asia Cup Stage-I which will be held from March 21 to 27 at Bangkok. National Senior Championship, Cuttack, Odisha, is also in the list where the players will be showcasing their talents. Moreover, there is a target to prep up for the World Championship 2019 to be held in Netherlands.
