Communication-
Meaning and Definition: The word Communication is of Latin origin, derived from the Latin word communicare, which means to share or exchange information, news and views etc. The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary defines the word communication as the “activity or process of expressing ideas feelings or of giving people information”. In brief, communication can be called an act of transferring an idea or some news from one person to another.
While defining communication, Pauley and Riordan write, “Communication is the act of transmitting an idea from one person to another. Communication always requires at least two people the sender of the message and its receiver”. Here sender actually refers to the writer or speaker and information and understanding from one person to another person. It is a way of reaching others with fact ideas, thoughts and value”. All communication, general or technical, involves two persons in the process in which one a speaker or a writer and the other is a listener or a reader. At the outset, the speaker or a writer encodes a concept which he wants to communicate. At the second stage, that message or concept is decoded by the listener or the reader and converted into meaning. At this stage of decoding, the receiver analyses and interprets the meaning of the message so that any confusion or misunderstanding can be avoided.  However, the technical communication can be internal or external.
