A division bench of MP high court has summoned district education officer (CEO), Chhindwara, in connection to a contempt petition filed against him. A retired employee of school education department, Bhajanlal Malviya, had filed a petition in the MP high court seeking an order to the department to provide him pension and other post-retirement benefits. A division bench of the high court had allowed the petition, directing school education department to give him pension and desired benefits. But, Malviya, who now filed a contempt petition in the court, said that order of the court had not been complied with till now. In the course of hearing of the contempt petition, the court noticed that DEO, Chhindwara, had made an adverse comment on court’s order in the file subsequently moved in the department for compliance of the order. The court taking strong exception to this, summoned the official on the next hearing of the petition. The petition would now be heard on August 1.
