An agnostic is somebody who doesn't believe in something until there is evidence for it... The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself. I don't want to believe, I want to know. Extinction is the rule; Survival is the exception. It is unseemly of us, who often behave so unfeelingly toward other animals, to contend that only humans can suffer. A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism. My view is if there is no evidence for it, then forget about it. We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers.
