The students should daily practice for some time of balanced sentences, i.e. sentences in which the letters are equally distributed between the left and right hands, as well as alphabetical sentences. Attention must be paid to correct fingering and right degree of touch. The fingers from the keys and the thumb from the space bar should be withdrawn and the carriage returned by the line space lever without any loss of time. The time occupied in changing sheets as well as in locating the last or ‘catch’ word typed on a previous page must be reduced to a minimum. Always follow touch or blind method. This method alone can increase speed in typing.
