Narendranath Dutta, who later came to be known as Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863 to a Bengali family in Calcutta. His father and grandfather along with his mother possessed rich spiritual, religious and educational values which were evidently passed on to him. He was a curious child and had an inclination towards Spirituality at a very young age. He travelled far and wide spreading the message of Hinduism to the world outside India. As a result of his teachings and works, he is regarded as an inspiration and idol to the youth of the country till date. He had a curious mind and constantly refused to accept the superstitions prevailing in those times. At a very tender age he was introduced to spirituality and he instantly developed a liking and interest for the same. Growing up he became well known for his empathetic feelings for the poor of the society and his eccentric knowledge and the ability to learn. On 4th July 1902, after a normal day of teaching Sanskrit and spiritualism to his students and his daily part of meditation, Swami Vivekananda died due to a vein outburst and was cremated at the same site as his mentor Ramakrishna. One among the most inspirational personalities of India was Swami Vivekananda who has left behind a rich legacy of this teachings and life experiences for the youth of the country. He was born to an upper middle class traditional Hindu family and therefore had great knowledge of Vedas and Hinduism. When it came to education and learning, Swami Vivekananda was an eccentric person. He studied in various different institutions and also received a Bachelor's Degree in Arts. He was an avid reader since childhood and a renaissance man. He had studied about religion, philosophy, arts, science and many other topics. Along with being a reader he also indulged in sport activities. Adhering to his interest in spiritualism and religion, he also studied the Vedas, the Upanishads and other sacred texts. He also received education in western culture and science which further kindled his interest in spiritualism and developing understanding and faith among different religions of the world. His ability to learn and retain things was praised by one and all and further inspired people of all generations. He has left behind great values for the young to follow and lead. Even after decades of his demise he is still remembered for his vibrant vision and optimism for the future of the country. Born as Narendranath Dutta and Bhubaneswari Devi in Calcutta, Swami Vivekananda was an extremely curious child and had his interests in various spiritual and philosophical teachings. Growing up, he began inspiring and enlightening millions of minds across the world and peacefully gave the message of Hinduism to the world.
