On the third day of Navratri the worship of Maa Chandraghanta, the third form of Goddess Durga holds special significance. This form symbolizes peace courage and well-being. Her radiant form, riding a tiger inspires devotees with fearlessness while her gentle form bestows peace and happiness. is adorned with a bell-shaped crescent moon on her forehead earning her this name. The ten-armed goddess wields various weapons and wears a garland of white flowers around her neck. While always ready for battle, she is compassionate and gentle toward her devotees.  
The sound of the Mother's bell frightens evil spirits, demons, and monsters. This sound protects devotees from evil spirits and negative forces. It is believed that as soon as a devotee meditates on the Mother, this divine sound resonates to protect them. By worshipping Maa Chandraghanta, the mind of the devotee enters the Manipur Chakra due to which he experiences supernatural things. An invisible radiation of divine light radiates from the body of such a devotee which also provides peace and positive energy to the people around. Importance and Result of Worship By worshipping Maa Chandraghanta the devotee is blessed with long life good health happiness and prosperity. Sins and obstacles are removed by her blessings. Along with this courage fearlessness humility and gentleness develop in the devotee. Brightness attraction and sweetness automatically increase in his personality. On this day bathe the mother with pure water and panchamrit and offer flowers akshat kumkum and sindur. Offer sweets or khir made from saffron-milk. Offering a garland of white lotus red turmeric and roses is considered auspicious. Devotees should chant this mantra during the worship.
